Gluten Free Cheese Crackers

These cheesy crackers are melt in your mouth goodness.  They are simple to make and are a great snack.  They are made with Bob's Red Mill whole grain sorghum flour. Sorghum Flour is high in fiber and iron.  You can whip these up in the stand mixer or the food processor and have them in the oven in about 15 min.  They are great as a snack or are a wonderful addition to any cheese platter or hors d'oeuvre plate.

Frugal Healthy Mom Tip-I started making my own crackers when I saw how expensive store bought gluten free cheese crackers were.  They were also not very healthy.  I make double the amount of crackers for about half the price of store bought ones.  These crackers cost me about $2.25 a batch.  Store bought cost $5-$7 a box.  To make them healthier you can use grass fed organic dairy products.

Gluten Free Cheese Crackers

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup Sorghum Flour
  • 1/2 cup Tapioca Flour
  • 1 cup Chedder Cheese (grated)
  • 4 Tbs Butter (softened)
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 3 Tbs Milk
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.2.Add all ingredients to a stand mixer or a food processor. Blend until well-combined and forms a ball. Dough will be slightly sticky when done mixing.2. Form dough into a smooth ball. 3. Take ball and roll it out on silicone baking sheet or wax paper(you may need to add a little GF flour to wax paper to prevent sticking). I shape it into a rectangle and roll it out to about an 1/8 inch thick. Make sure it is rolled out evenly.4. Cut dough with a pizza cutter into small squares. You can poke holes with a sharp edge to make designs.5. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until light brown and crackers look slightly bubbly. 6. Remove from oven and recut into squares along lines that were already made.7. Let cool and enjoy.
